I love simple, elegant, and unforced forms and colours. My love for ceramics started in Japan and I feel very close to the approach and relationships people from the east have with their ceramics and their makers.
Next to a successful and fulfilling career as a photographer, I found a new and great passion in working with clay. This humble material brings me joy every day and never ceases to challenge me. I love making unique pieces, sometimes from the same family but seldom identical twins. What is important to me is the individual character, the weight & balance; it’s texture, how it sits in your hand, how it kisses your lips when you drink, developing an intimate relationship. My glazes are all self-made and (re)designed from a growing self-sourced inventory keeping a keen eye out to my footprint and then woodfired,
blessed by real fire.
