(early Chinese who married local ethnics in the Straits Settlement during the 15th to
19th century). This ethnic integration gave rise to a mixed Chinese /Malay culture with a certain
lifestyle, attire, cuisine and language.
Nyonyas often wore a kebaya, an attractive outfit pinned with 3 brooches (called kerongsangs)
and their slippers were embroidered with colourful glass beads.
在地陶土茶碗表現的是峇峇娘惹中的娘惹（女性）與峇峇（男性）。（峇峇娘惹指的是 15
到 19 世紀於海峽殖民地與當地原住民通婚的早期華人。）這樣的族群融合孕育出了馬來與
中國混合文化與其獨有的生活樣貌、服裝、料理、語言。
娘惹通常會穿著可峇雅，一種別有三個胸針（keronsang）的美麗服飾，而拖鞋上則縫著五
顏六色的玻璃珠。
