The glaze and slip are applied upon the chawan with a technique inspired by a lacquer layering. The layering of different colored clay upon the surface generates mesmerizing color patterns akin to that of jades and Nihonga. More rich and diverse colors are added to the chawan along with engraved patterns of flowers, leaves, and branches, as well as the ever-changing texture of the slip.。
