About the Performer

Kang Yi-Ren, an artist-in-residence at Yuanli Coastal Arts and Cultural Center, hails from Yuanli Township, Miaoli.

His singing journey began with traditional folk and campus ballads, carrying forward the nostalgic flavor of Taiwan’s folk-song era. In recent years, through community teaching and creative work, he has re-arranged and re-interpreted traditional Taiwanese folk songs, giving them a refreshing new life.

Kang’s unique “new folk style” blends heartfelt melodies with innovative arrangements, offering audiences both familiarity and surprise.
