 The lecture will explain and discuss the design of a small wood-fired kiln, which offers many advantages for small ceramic studios, schools, and individual creators. During the talk, we will cover the essential details for making such a kiln functional, avoiding the most common mistakes, and focusing on practical usage so that even those without wood-firing experience will feel encouraged to build and successfully fire one to stoneware temperatures. Drawing on over 25 years of experience building kilns based on such design in the Czech Republic, I will share practical insights tailored to ceramic artists and potters in Taiwan.
