Scholar’s Mosquito-Repelling Herbal Bead Bracelet — Hands-On Workshop
In ancient times, when scholars traveled long and arduous journeys to the capital for the imperial examinations during the humid summer, their greatest challenge was not the difficulty of the test itself, but the stifling heat and relentless mosquitoes.

Thus, herbal bead bracelets became an indispensable “invisible companion” for literati. A single strand of beads could repel insects, ward off negativity, refresh the mind, and symbolize the auspicious omen of academic success.
This workshop, themed around the “Top Scholar (Zhuangyuan)”, revives this traditional wisdom of herbal incense. Through hands-on making, you will experience the power of fragrance and the cultural richness it carries.
