Master A-Guei Lion Dance Troupe

Founded in 2001 in Miaoli County, the Master A-Guei Lion Dance Troupe was established under the leadership of Director Hsiao Wu-Miao (蕭武淼). The troupe consists of members passionate about lion dance and martial arts. Dedicated to preserving and developing the traditional lion dance culture, the troupe actively recruits and trains new members, enhancing their artistry through rigorous practice. The troupe has performed both domestically and internationally, achieving outstanding results in commercial performances as well as global competitions. Their efforts have elevated Taiwan’s lion dance culture onto the international stage, breaking traditional boundaries while promoting its spirit worldwide.

The Double Chawan Hundred-Tea Offering

In this format, one tea master pairs with one guest, forming a "double chawan tea setting." This distinctive practice has long been a tradition of the Taiwan International Chawan Festival, aiming to encourage Taiwanese society to integrate this act of offering tea into daily life—whether it be to a respected mentor, a beloved family member, or a close friend. By sharing a well-crafted bowl and good tea, the experience reflects the heartfelt culture of Taiwan. The double chawan tea setting embodies the simplest and most beautiful state of mind within a tea ceremony.

Yu-Te Wu (吳禹德)

As the third generation of Taiwan’s leading ocarina manufacturer TNG, Wu Yu-Te has been passionate about ocarina performance since childhood. He won second place in the National Ocarina Competition (Double-Chamber category). A graduate of the Department of Ethnomusicology at Nanhua University, he majored in ocarina performance and is especially skilled in double-chamber ocarina techniques.

His artistry has been recognized internationally, and he frequently performs across Taiwan while being regularly invited to Korea, Japan, and beyond to share his music.

Miaoli Ocarina Ensemble

Founded in 2008, the Miaoli Ocarina Ensemble often participates in major domestic and international ocarina exchange concerts. More than half of its members are ocarina instructors from the Miaoli region. The ensemble aims to use the ocarina’s sound to foster connections among people and spread a harmonious atmosphere far and wide.

米莎 Misa Wen

Misa was from Sanwan, Miaoli, and has started her music career since 2006. Her early pieces were more close to folk spirit; these years she tried melting her favorite punk, psychedelic rock, jazz into her works, and this makes her voice a charming variety. Each song she wrote is a unique story, wondering between reality and imagination.

Misa has released Hakka albums ”Snail”(2022), ”The Ship of Fools”(2019), ”Mosaic of the Night”(2016), ”On the Road”(2014), ”River”(2010).

Misa had been invited to perform at the state banquet of the inauguration of the 14th president and vice president (2016), 2023 Presidential Office Concert. And she also works on soundtracks for dramas, movies and documentaries.
