The chawan offers a rush of emotions when you are holding it in your hands. It's a vessel that is an integral part of life, of enjoying life.
I am participating in the exhibition with a spout bowl set and will be demonstrating cold tea service.
The tea is first brewed in a spouted chawan, then poured into a chawan full of ice to quickly chill the tea. The tea cools you from the mouth to the heart, making it most fitting for the summer. I hope that Taiwanese chawans can lead introduce a new way of drinking tea.
