The tea is nourished by water; the water is made by the vessel. The tea is formless and cannot be contained without a vessel. It is my insistence that the vessel must accentuate the aroma and taste in the tea. At a minimum, it should bring out the true taste of the tea. Craft techniques, namely, clay mixing, shaping, and firing, can then be employed to elevate the aroma, mouthfeel, and taste of the tea. For years, I have traveled with my tea vessels to the places of origin of the different teas to brew them. The experience I gained from these visits, along with my craft, allow me to produce a tea vessel that is suitable for all types of tea and bring them closer to the general public with the warmth of my art.
