Chang-Kun Ou has been engaged in spatial design for over thirty years, and has a long-term passion for floral art, calligraphy, seal engraving, and other forms of art. He skillfully blends the distinctive sculptural aesthetics of the West with the profound cultural essence of the East into his pottery creations. Embracing nature, he wholeheartedly infuses the current inner feelings into each piece of pottery, crafting them by hand and embracing a spontaneous approach, allowing life to blend into every artwork.
Chang-Kun Ou uses Taiwanese clay and a handcrafting approach with simple tools to create a unique piece that belongs exclusively to each individual. Fired in a wood-fueled kiln, the encounter with natural ash and fire marks forms texture on the surface, giving it a rugged appearance. However, the intricate patterns and textures intricately portray a sense of natural flow, revealing captivating details throughout and expressing a pure and unpretentious beauty. Everyone is welcome to join and share in the learning process, as they will be able to hold a teacup with warmth and uniqueness.
