Driving Regional Revitalization with Ceramics

In 2019, it marked the first year of Taiwanese Regional Revitalization. Tze-Yin Wu returned to her father's hometown, Chishang Township in Taitung County, to prepare for building a wood-fired kiln. With the idea of introducing traditional craftsmanship to the locals and reviving the forgotten craftsmanship in daily life, Tzu-Yin Wu embarked on a journey to practice a 'Half-farming, half-crafting' lifestyle. Through this exploration, she aimed to discover the transformative power of craftsmanship in society.
In this lecture, Tzu-Yin Wu will share her experiences and reflections on the implementation of several projects by the Water Conservation Bureau, the Ministry of Culture, and Taitung County Government. Also, she will discuss her reflections and prospects on regional revitalization, after she returned to her alma mater, Huafan University, to teach.
